Monthly Quran Nights are aimed to dedicate ourselves for intensive Quranic study and reflection. The focus is on immersing oneself in the Quran, enhancing understanding, and building habits of regular recitation and contemplation.
Organizing Monthly Quran Nights
  • Set Clear Objectives:
    • Deepen Understanding: Focus on Tafsir (exegesis) to understand the meanings and contexts of the Quranic verses to be recited in the night prayers.
    • Enhance Recitation: Improve recitation skills, focusing on Tajweed (correct pronunciation) and memorization.
    • Spiritual Reflection: Encourage participants to reflect on the verses and how they apply to their personal lives.
Qiyam al-Layl (Night Prayer)

Qiyam al-Layl is the voluntary prayer offered during the night, typically in the last third of the night before Fajr (dawn) prayer. It is a time for deep spiritual connection, seeking forgiveness, and making supplications.

Structure of the Prayer:

  • Number of Rakat: Qiyam al-Layl is usually prayed in pairs of two Rak’ahs (units of prayer), with no fixed number. Participants can pray as many as they wish, with eight Rak’ahs being common.
  • Recitation of Quran: During Qiyam al-Layl, recite the Quran at a slow and reflective pace. Longer Surahs or passages are often chosen to enhance reflection.
  • Supplication (Dua): Conclude the prayer with a long and heartfelt dua, asking Allah for guidance, forgiveness, and whatever is on your heart.

Incorporating Monthly Quran Nights:

  • Focused Recitation: During Qiyam al-Layl, recite the portions of the Quran studied during the Quran Nnights, reflecting on their meanings.
  • Thematic Focus: Each night, focus on specific themes from the Quran, such as mercy, patience, or repentance, to deepen reflection and understanding.
